Description

This module focuses on the analysis of manufacturing organisations and global markets from an economic perspective, . Participants will learn how global markets and organisations work and how decisions are coordinated. The module addresses several different, but related economic approaches to the management of manufacturing organisations including behavioural theory, agency theory, transaction cost economics, economic contributions to strategy and evolutionary approaches to organisations. This directs attention to the development of different organisational forms and the interaction of firms with their environments, providing a coherent picture of managerial economics and a series of analytic techniques for the manufacturing firm.
